You may have heard us mention 3 ways taps several times in the past but not really been too sure what they actually entail. So what is a 3 way tap and what are the benefits?
A 3-way (triflow) kitchen tap connects to an under sink water filtration system and dispenses filtered cold water, unfiltered hot water, and unfiltered cold water from a single tap. These are oftened installed alongside a water softenening system to enable you to have softened hot and cold water whilst still have a filtered hard water drinking feed. A quality three way mixer tap has separate lines inside that eliminates the possibility cross contamination.
Whilst standard filter taps are installed on your kitchen sink by drilling another hole in it, 3-way triflow kitchen taps just replace your regular kitchen tap. This enables your kitchen to have a much sleeker and neater design without the need for extra holes or taps in your sink unit or worktop.
As part of our standard water softener installation, you would normally get an inline water filter cartridge system which feeds into a seperate mini tap. Obviously, by opting for a 3 way tap instead you can still have the inline water filter cartridge system, just into the one tap instead. For a better level of filtration you can also opt for a Reverse Osmosis water filtration unit. These fit under your kitchen sink and will prove the drinking water feed with pure, filtered water.
