After the year that was 2020, we don’t just want to wish you all a Happy New Year but most importantly a Healthy New Year.
Small changes = a big difference
Our health really has become a huge focus over the last year. Traditionally January is also the month that we look to make improvements, especially after the excesses of Christmas. A lot of people however can feel overwhelmed when considering making changes to their lifestyle and also fail because they go overboard in setting unrealistic targets,. The good news is that it really is just the small changes that you make which call all add up to making a big difference to how you feel.
Drink more water
We all know that drinking water is vital for keeping us healthy and hydrated but many of us still fail to drink the recommended 8 glasses of water a day. Having a water filtration system such as a Reverse Osmosis unit installed in your home means that your drinking water will be pure, clear and great tasting. With water tasting so good, it’ll be easy to add those extra glasses into your day.
Cut down on alcohol
Hands up who is doing Dry January? Hands up who did Dry January for about a week before giving up? Cutting out the things that you enjoy totally often proves unachievable for most. We set ourselves up for failure and then think ‘what’s the point’, swiftly going back to our old ways. How about alternating your alcoholic drinks with a glass of water though? You will keep yourself hydrated (which will hopefully avoid the dreaded hangover!) and cut down on your alcohol intake all whilst still being able to enjoy a drink or two. Find plain water boring? We have some great drinks recipes for you to help switch things up a bit.
Get some exercise
With many of us working from home these days, we are finding that we are moving less and sitting more. It’s so important for both our physical and mental health to try and get some fresh air and exercise whenever we can. Why not try using your lunch break to go for a walk (or run!) instead of sitting looking at a screen? Fill up a reusable bottle of water before you go to keep yourself hydrated as you go!
Look after your skin health
Dry, itchy skin is uncomfortable to say the least and can be exacerbated in the colder months due to the dehydrating properties of central heating. If you wash in hard water, this can add to your woes. Minerals will build up on your skin and the soap that you use is unable to be washed away properly leaving your skin feeling tight and dry. If you have a water softener installed, not only will the minerals be removed but you will be able to rinse any soap residue away properly. Your skin will feel smooth and soft, without the need for extra moisturisers and lotions.
